ABU DHABI, Nov 11, 2011 (AFP) - Sebastian Vettel said he was 'too greedy' after crashing out of Friday's second free practice ahead of Sunday's Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

The recently crowned double champion and Red Bull driver, who has already won 11 races this season, wound up in the wall at turn one, damaging the front wing of his car.

In spite of this, the 24-year-old German returned to the track and wound up sixth fastest.

"I lost the car on the entrance," explained Vettel.

"I went a bit too wide and got too much on the kerb and lost the rears and couldn't catch the car any more."

"I think I was just too greedy, I wanted too much on the entrance. It just brushed it a little bit. If you go a bit beyond that there is dust on it, and there is less grip."

Vettel added: "I was quite lucky to get the car out again at the end, so there was not much damage which was good. We will see now."

His Red Bull team-mate Australian Mark Webber finished the session marginally quicker and wound up fifth fastest.

The 35-year-old said he was happy with his performance: "All in all a pretty good afternoon and night for us. We got all the data, and it went to plan. We will have a good look through it now.

"It's going pretty well at the moment. I feel pretty happy with the car and I get a good feeling. We need to prepare a few things to get the most out of the lap."
