January 22nd (F1plus Team).- For Felipe Massa, a new season will start in 2013, but this one probably means more to him than the previous two, in which an emotional roller coast ride took the best out of him and his performing.

After the 2009 accident which sidelined him from racing for the last third of the season, Massa’s has been under the shadow of Fernando Alonso, who has greatly our perform him.

At some point the Brazilian thought his contract was not going to be renewed and even thought about quitting the sport. Nevertheless, an improvement in performance and a contract renewal seemed to have kicked in the Brazilian the will to fight again, and the result of the resurgence was seen in the second half of last season.

Now Massa awaits for the 2013 season with a different eye, maybe wiser but hungrier to put those last two years on the past and provide us with the racing we the type of racing we have seen from him before.

So, in order to keep up with his up and coming “resurgence”, the Ferrari veteran paid a visit to the team headquarters where he met his engineers to get up to speed on the development of the new car and he was able to have a seat fitting on the first chassis, currently being built up in the Car Assembly area.

Since December the Brazilian had not been at Maranello, but like most of the Formula 1 drivers, he was very busy. Between his Karting event, the Wroom event last week (the classical Ski trip organized by Ferrari) and a quick stop at Milan to play football, there has not been a lot of free time for the Massa.

It’s easy to notice Felipe’s new vigor and more loose, yet hungrier approach when seen in public and because of his comments. In a way, he has always explained that he was able to put his “grey” period behind him thanks to the “support of the whole team, who had always believed in him and of his family which helped him conclude that everyone goes through difficult times, but that one must never lose one’s self-belief.“ Massa said.
