Alonso believes Ferrari is at "100%" before the start of season.

He says: "As pilots, we always try to repeat the good things and to avoid repeating mistakes"

(EFE) .- The Ferrari’s Spanish driver, Fernando Alonso, says that he wants to start the season in Formula One "stronger" than last year and says the team is at "one hundred percent" a week before the start of the championship.

"We start from a stronger position than last year. The aim of this winter was and is to come to Australia ahead of everyone," says the pilot in an interview published today by the Italian daily Corriere della Sera".

Alonso says that Ferrari does not want to repeat the mistakes of last season and, in recent months, has proven their cars in extreme conditions and working with several improvements to the tires to achieve maximum advantage.

"We got to one hundred percent level (to Australia). We'll see if it's enough," he adds.

However, the Spanish driver recognizes that it is better to wait, since he expects for Red Bull, McLaren and Mercedes to come "strong".

"At the end it will win who has the stronger car," said Alonso, who adds "there is always something to improve and not to repeat ourselves."

"In some areas the team have been strengthened, there are new people and I think that makes us also stronger. As pilots, we always try to repeat the good things as well as to avoid repeating mistakes," he said.

Alonso reiterated his "motivation" at the heart of Ferrari and said that although if this year he does not win the World Championship, there is not a plan to leave the Italian team.

"I know how hard it is to win a World Championship and I'm in the best place to try. Even if you do not win some people are worse," he stresses.

"This team is very professional and determined to achieve victory, something that happens everywhere, and this motivates me," he adds.

The Spanish rider also explains that he tries to help his teammates, but he does not look like a leader: "In Formula One no one likes losing and I know my results depends on the work of many people, so I try to help them."

Alonso speaks also about Robert Kubica after his accident in a rally and said he felt "shocked" when the news broke, but defends the Polish: "A rally with an approved car, helmet and seat belt is not crazy."
