Prost praises four-time champ Vettel

Legendary French driver Alain Prost has congratulated Sebastian Vettel on equaling his tally of four World Championships
Sunday, October 27, 2013

October 27th, 2013 (F1Plus / Chris Cameron-Dow) - Four-time World Champion Alain Prost has congratulated Sebastian Vettel on equaling his tally of titles, after the young German clinched his fourth title by winning the Indian Grand Prix today.

Prost said, "I’m delighted to see Sebastian win the title today. He is a great driver and he has had some outstanding wins this year, some of the best of his career so far. Singapore was one of those wins: he was fighting all the way but he made it look easy, which is always a mark of a worthy winner.

"You can see he is methodical in his approach, builds a strong team around him that is 100% motivated for success and is entirely focused on the end result.

"He is a great champion and I don’t think this title will be his last. He has a good team around him, stability with the technical team and with Renault, and of course he is still young enough to challenge for more.

"I’m pleased to see him equal my four titles. I wish him all the best to go on and win others and become a great Renault champion."

Prost won three titles for McLaren - in 1985, 1986 and 1989 - and one for Williams in 1993 before retiring from Formula One. Prost was 38 years old when he won his fourth and final title. Vettel, by comparison, is just 26 years of age and still has plenty of time left in his career to challenge for further titles.
