BARCELONA, 10th May 2014 (F1 Plus / Rosie Baillie) - Yet again no one had an answer for the Mercedes duo as Nico Rosberg topped the timesheets ahead of Lewis Hamilton in FP3.
Rosberg’s fastest lap time was 1:25.887, with Hamilton almost a second behind with a 1.26.756. Fernando Alonso was the next man down the road from them with his former teammate Felipe Massa going fourth fastest.
Romain Grosjean had a good session finishing fifth, after predicting a good qualifying session yesterday due to the pace of teammate Pastor Maldonado during Friday’s sessions.
Kevin Magnussen and Daniel Ricciardo finished with almost identical times in sixth and seventh with Jenson Button and Maldonado not far behind.
After limited running on Friday due to an electrical issue Sebastian Vettel went 10th fastest and put in 20 laps.
Valtteri Bottas was 11th fastest followed by Jean-Eric Vergne, Daniil Kvyat and Kimi Raikkonen, who wasn’t able to match the time of teammate Alonso.
Sergio Perez found himself 15th fastest followed by teammate Nico Hulkenberg and both Sauber’s, with Adrian Sutil 17th and Esteban Gutierrez 18th.
FP3 came to an early end for Max Chilton who ended up in the gravel after locking up, the Brit still went 19th fastest ahead of rivals Caterham. Teammate Jules Bianchi’s finished 20th, though his session was brought to a premature end due to a puncture.
Kamui Kobayashi and Marcus Ericsson brought up the rear finishing 21st and 22nd respectively. Kobayashi ran through the gravel at Turn 7 shortly before the chequered flag and was able to continue his run.
