Williams duo disappointed with qualifying

Both drivers feel points are a possibility though.
Saturday, May 24, 2014

24th, May 2014 (F1 Plus / Rosie Baillie) - Felipe Massa was disappointed to not get through to Q2 following an incident with Marcus Ericsson.

Ericsson locked up and drove across in front of Massa, forcing them both to make light contact with the barriers.

Massa was fast enough to get into Q2 but was unable to get back to the pits in time to start the session and qualified 16th.

The Brazilian said he was disappointed but felt points are possible.

"I did everything I could in the first session but at the end Ericsson hit me and that ruined my qualifying. I was hopeful for a good position today as the car actually felt ok; it would have been a fight to get into the top ten, not easy, but possible." Massa said.

"I am disappointed and tomorrow is going to be a challenge but with this car points are still possible."

Valtteri Bottas qualified 13th around the streets of Monaco. The Finn said he lacked grip but like his teammate was optimistic that a points finish is a possibility.

"As a team this wasn’t the optimum result. The issue we had was the getting heat into the front tyres."

"The car felt ok, but I didn’t have the grip that I wanted. We have some work to do to try and get this sorted for tomorrow."

"I am still optimistic of some points though as they are only a few places away and anything can happen in Monaco."
