8th June, 2014 (F1 Plus / Rosie Baillie) - Felipe Massa felt a victory could have been a possibility at the Canadian Grand Prix.

The Williams driver was involved in an incident with Sergio Perez on the penultimate lap, which ended both of their races.

Massa went the hospital as a precaution for routine checks and was discharged when all results came back as normal.

He performed well throughout the race and felt he could have challenged for a win.

“I was one of the quickest guys on the track, so we lost many points today.” Massa said.

“I’m happy that I’m here with no problems but I’m so disappointed for what happened with Perez, and also for the pitstop because I think maybe we could even have fought for victory today.”

The Williams looked strong on Saturday and during the race and Massa is sure the Austrian Grand Prix will be better.

“But it shows we have a good car and I’m convinced the next race will be better.” he said.

Teammate Valtteri Bottas finished seventh and said he lost out after coming back into traffic after his second pit stop, which caused his engine and brakes to overheat.

“We need to look back at the second pitstop in terms of timing and the stop because I didn’t come back out where I should have.” Bottas said.

“I was then in traffic, stuck behind the Force India, which overheated the engine and brakes, and I had to save everything to get to the flag.”
