Both drivers say the team have hard work ahead to understand how to improve
Friday, July 4, 2014

SILVERSTONE, 4th July 2014 (F1 Plus / Rosie Baillie) - Romain Grosjean and Pastor Maldonado both said they and Lotus have a lot of work ahead to find out where gains can be made.

Grosjean said he was happier with the car during the morning session, something back up by his performance. During FP1 he finished 12th and he finished FP2 15th fastest.

There’s still work to be done and in some ways I was happier with the car in the morning.” Grosjean said.

“We tried quite a lot of different set-ups to improve the aerodynamic platform in the afternoon, coming back to something we had earlier in the year.”

“We’ve still got quite a bit to go through in the debrief with some hard work ahead to understand where the gains can be made.”

Maldonado suffered a power unit issue during the morning’s running which meant he was unable to set a timed lap.

The start of the weekend hasn’t been easy as we suffered from a Power Unit issue this morning which meant that our first session was over very early.” he said.

The Venezuelan went on to praise his time for their hard work and added that he was confident they could get more out of the car.

“Everyone has done a fantastic job replacing it with a new Unit and we were able to make good progress in the afternoon.”

“There is plenty to work on with my engineers before tomorrow. I’m confident that we can get out more from the car so as always we will push as much as we can.”
