SILVERSTONE, 6th July 2014 (F1Plus / Rosie Baillie) - An opening lap incident involving Kimi Raikkonen and Felipe Massa halted the British Grand Prix for an hour while repairs were carried out on the guardrail.
Red flags were brought out after Raikkonen slid across the Wellington Straight when he rejoined the track after running wide. The Finn crashed into the barriers before coming to a halt.
The Ferrari driver went to the medical centre and had a precautionary x-ray on his right ankle, which the team said was bruised.
Felipe Massa had to swerve to avoid a full-on collision with Raikkonen but clipped the back of the car, damaging the left rear of his car.
The Williams driver was able to limp back to the grid but his car was retired shortly after.
Max Chilton picked up a drive through penalty for pitting under a red flag which saw him drive down the pitlane while mechanics were running up it and back onto the track.
At the time of writing, the race was due to restart at 14:05 local time.
