9th July, 2014 (F1Plus / Rosie Baillie) - Jules Bianchi went fastest on day two of the Silverstone test.

The Frenchman was behind the wheel of the Ferrari, standing in for Kimi Raikkonen who was injured on the opening lap of the British Grand Prix.

Bianchi completed 89 laps and a fastest time of 1:35.262.

Daniil Kvyat completed 55 laps and was 0.282s slower than Bianchi.

Third fastest was Kevin Magnussen, followed by Giedo van der Garde in the Sauber.

Lewis Hamilton was fifth fastest overall and missed most of the morning session after spinning at Stowe, bringing out the red flags. The Briton returned to the track in the afternoon and put in 47 laps in total.

Valtteri Bottas was sixth fastest, followed by Max Chilton in the Marussia, Daniel Juncadella in the Force India and Sebastian Vettel in the Red Bull.

Charles Pic spent the day in the Lotus testing Pirelli’s new 18-inch tyre design during the morning’s running. In the afternoon the Frenchman switched back to the 13-inch tyre design and went on to complete 39 laps in total and finish 10th fastest.

Julian Leal was in the Caterham and his running was caught short due to an electrical issue, which meant the car spent most of the day in the garage as the mechanics worked on it.

Leal returned to the track in the afternoon to finish 11th fastest after completing 51 laps.

Rio Haryanto was due to get behind the wheel of the Caterham in the afternoon but due to the electrical issue he was unable to run.
