Lotus hoping to keep Grosjean for 2015

Deputy team principal Gastaldi says the intention is for Grosjean to stay
Tuesday, July 22, 2014

22nd July 2014 (F1Plus / Rosie Baillie) - Lotus are hoping to keep Romain Grosjean in the team for the 2015 season.

Over the weekend Lotus confirmed Pastor Maldonado would remain at the team next season. They are hoping to secure Grosjean for next season too.

Grosjean first drove for the Lotus Formula One team in 2009 when they were Renault and left at the end of the season.

The Frenchman returned to Lotus in 2012 and has remained there since.

“Let’s be honest. Romain as a top, top driver is not happy with the 2014 season and this is mirrored by everyone at the team of course,” Deputy team principal Federico Gastaldi said.

“We cannot confirm anything just yet as the timing will be right when we are both comfortable to announce something.

“All I can say is that it’s certainly the intention for Romain to stay at Enstone and continue what has been a great partnership and working relationship.”

Grosjean is currently 14th in the drivers’ championship with eight points.
