SPA-FRANCORCHAMPS, 21st August, 2014 (F1Plus / Rosie Baillie) - Felipe Massa says he expects Williams to be competitive for the rest of the year.

Shortly before the summer break Williams were very competitive and managed three podium finishes courtesy of teammate Valtteri Bottas.

Massa took pole position in Austria and went on to finish the race fourth, his season best.

On paper the Belgian and Italian circuits are strong tracks for Williams.

Massa said he hoped they could perform well and felt they could be competitive throughout the rest of the year.

“Well, I hope it can be more than just on the paper. I hope we can show good performance on the track in this race and in Monza,” he said.

“But I would say maybe most of the races we can be competitive.

“Maybe Singapore will be the most difficult one but I would say that at most of the tracks we can be there, we can be competitive.”

Williams are currently fourth in the constructors’ championship with 135 points, seven points behind Ferrari who are in third place.
