SPA-FRANCORCHAMPS, August 24th, 2014 (F1Plus / Rosie Baillie) - The stewards have fined Red Bull Racing after Daniel Ricciardo was caught speeding in the pit lane during qualifying.

Ricciardo was caught doing 4km/h over the 100km/h pit lane speed limit. The team have been given a €1,000 fine.

The Australian driver will start the Belgian Grand Prix from fifth place with teammate Sebastian Vettel up ahead in third.

Post-qualifying Ricciardo said he pushed too hard in during Q3, which he feels lost him time.

”I had a moment on Blanchimont; that corner is tricky in the wet,” Ricciardo said.

“It’s never full, it’s always a lift or a dab of the brakes and knowing that the chequered flag was just there at the end of the session, then I just pushed it a bit too much.

“I guess in hindsight it cost a bit of time, but you never get the perfect lap in these conditions.”
