August 26th, 2014 (F1Plus / Rosie Baillie) – The FIA have confirmed that they will not investigate the clash between Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg on lap two of the Belgian Grand Prix.

Post-race Hamilton told journalists that Rosberg had told him he hit him on purpose on lap two of the Belgian Grand Prix. Rosberg released a video denying it saying his ‘view of the events are very different’.

The incident was not investigated by the race stewards as they deemed it to be a racing incident. An FIA spokesperson has confirmed that they will not be looking in to the incident.

“The FIA will not intervene in this issue. Only a 'new element' that would have appeared after the results became final could justify us opening an investigation,” FIA spokesperson Pierre Regent told The Daily Mail.

“A comment alleged to have been made in an internal briefing and later denied by the team itself does not constitute such a 'new element’.”
