Senna admits he was the sinner at Spa

Unfortunately, the brazilian lost his privileged starting position (7th) and finished with a discouraging but decent 13th.

SPA-FRANCORCHAMPS, Belgium, Aug 28, 2011 (AFP) - Bruno Senna apologised to rival Jaime Alguersuari after crashing into him at the opening corner of Sunday's Belgian Grand Prix - and admitted he had made a mistake.

The 27-year-old nephew of legendary three-times world champion Ayrton Senna, who was making his debut with Renault after being promoted at the expense of Nick Heidfeld, said he misjudged the braking zone.

"I had never done the first corner with high fuel ever before, so unfortunately I misjudged the braking area," said the Brazilian.

"Sorry to Alguersuari, but fortunately for me, there was no damage to the suspension so I could continue to race. "It was a misjudgement, by me, and lack of doing it for 11 races. I should have maybe been more careful, but I'm here to race and I wanted to race.

"I think our pace was actually pretty good and I had good experience on both sets of tyres, so now I'm looking forward to Monza."
Senna, who qualified seventh on Saturday with an exceptional display, eventually finished 13th, five places behind Russian team-mate Vitaly Petrov.
