I’ve been following F1 since the Austrian grand prix in 2002 (probably not the best first race to watch) and have been hooked ever since! I initially supported David Coulthard but quickly changed allegiances to Kimi Raikkonen near the beginning of 2003 as I could see he was going to be the next big thing and so it proved. 2010 and 2011 were tough years without him around but thankfully he’s come back with a vengeance.
Over the eleven years I’ve been watching F1 my love for it has never wavered and I’ve been lucky enough to have attended 4 races since 2005, three at Silverstone in 2005, 2007 and 2011 and one at Spa in 2012. Spa has to stand out simply because of the awesomeness of the track and the fact I was able to stand beneath the podium after the race.
As for my life aside from F1, I’ve recently graduated from university where I studied Politics and International Relations and gained a First Class Honours degree and since then I’ve been blogging regularly on F1 on my own blog at www.allthingsf1.wordpress.com and am now fortunate enough to contribute articles to F1plus as well as PureF1.com. My ultimate ambition is to become a motorsport journalist and hopefully my contributions to F1plus can be the first step towards achieving that goal.
